“I came upon children gathered around a sculpture of a woman holding a cat. They patted the cat and hugged it just as though it were real, and their parents smiled, never saying ‘Don’t!’ Right then, I saw what I wanted for my art. I wanted my sculptures to be outdoors in parks, where people of all ages could touch and enjoy them.”
